Husband killer given nursing ban

I’ve just read this, someone let me know if I have missed something.

Husband killer given nursing ban

A woman from Kent who admitted killing her estranged husband with an axe has been struck off as a nurse.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) told Wadanahalugeder Chandrasekera, 60, of Bearsted, that she cannot practise in the UK for at least five years.

Now that’s a harsh punishment! Poor wimmin.

She admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility in January 2006 after striking her husband Sarath 11 times with the weapon.

Note the language. Strike with the weapon. Not hack up with an axe.

Chandrasekera was sentenced to a three-year community order last August.

The NMC’s Conduct and Competence Committee struck her name off the register at a hearing on Wednesday.

Husband’s affair

She has 28 days to appeal against the decision.

An NMC spokeswoman said Chandrasekera could otherwise reapply to join the register in five years, but would have to prove she still had the skills and competence to work as a nurse.

She killed her husband in October 2005 after discovering he had fathered a child with her niece.

She spent 10 months in prison on remand, but was freed by a judge at Woolwich Crown Court who was told she had suffered years of emotional abuse at the hands of Mr Chandrasekera.

I wonder how many man have been ‘driven’ to murder their girlfriend because of the emotional/ physical abuse she put him through, only to get 10 months in prison…

  1. When a man cheats, it’s ok to kill him.

When a woman cheats, it is the husband#s responsibility to give her the house, car, and half his income, as an apology for making her cheat.
